How does Indeed find and rank jobs?
Career Scout is Indeed's AI tool for finding jobs, exploring careers, building a resume, practicing interviews and tracking applications.3
Indeed's matching first removes clear non-matches, such as a license you lack or an office job when you want remote, then ranks the rest using signals like the jobs you click, save and ignore.4
Does Indeed sell placement?
Sponsored jobs are prioritized in relevant search results while sponsored, and employers pay per click or per started application.5
They appear more often and for longer in results and alerts, and the Urgently Hiring label appears only on sponsored jobs.6
Indeed also says 70% of applications to sponsored jobs come from its AI recommendations.4
Does Indeed work in ChatGPT and Claude?
The beta MCP server for Claude has four tools: job search, job detail, your Indeed resume, and company data. There is no apply tool.8
The ChatGPT app searches jobs in plain language from your profile and sends you to Indeed to apply. It shares your name, city and state, summary, work history, education, skills and preferences, and not your contact details or application history.9
Does Indeed apply for you?
Indeed announced Apply For Me in July 2026 as a limited test for a small number of US job seekers. Its automatic mode is paused, and the test continues in a review mode where you approve each draft. Indeed calls it an early test, not a full launch.7
